Calmative
Quieting and/or relaxing. Something that is calmative decreases nervousness and excitement. Something that causes quietness, relaxation, and/or decreased nervousness and excitement is known as calmative. Calmative comes from the Latin word "cauma" meaning "heat of the mid-day sun." This refers to the time of day (in Italy) when everything rests and is still.
