Desiccation
The process of being desiccated. Desiccate mean to dry thoroughly and to be free from moisture. Desiccate also means to preserve by drying, especially food. Desiccation is also known as dehydration and exsiccation. Desiccation comes from the Latin word "desiccare" meaning "to dry up completely."
