Excrete means to discharge from the body as waste. The process of excreting means that something is being separated from the blood and sent out of the body. Something that is excreted is known as an excretion. Excretions are often sent out of the body through a normal secretion, such as a drug being excreted in urine. Excrete comes from the Latin word "excerene," meaning "to separate."
