Iatrotechnique is a rarely used term for the art of surgery and medicine. We aren't talking about drawings or paintings. By art, we mean the ways or techniques in which medical science is applied. Iatrotechnique comes from the Greek word "iatros" meaning "physician," and the Greek word "techne" meaning "art." Put the two words together and you have "physician art."
