A keratometer is an instrument used to measure the front surface of the cornea cornea. The cornea is the clear covering at the front of the eyeball. Keratometer is also known as ophthalmometer. Keratometer comes from the Greek word “keras” meaning “horn,” and the Greek word “metron” meaning “measure.” Put the words together and you get “horn measure.”
