Lactogenic means pertaining to lactogenesis, which is milk production. Lactogenic comes from the Latin word “lac” meaning “milk,” the Latin word “gen” meaning “producing,” and the Greek word “ikos” meaning “pertaining to.” Put the words together and you have “pertaining to milk production.”
