Macrobiotic diet
A diet that is extremely restricted, such as one in which one mostly eats whole grains and unprocessed foods. Unprocessed foods are those that have not been changed in any way from their original form. Macrobiotic comes from the Greek word "makros" meaning "large," the Greek word "bios" meaning "life," and the Greek word "ikos" meaning "pertaining to." Put the words together and you have "pertaining to large life." Diet comes from the Greek word "diata" meaning "a way of life."
