FEATURED BOOKS ON THE KIDNEYS FROM BARNES & NOBLE.COM:
Neonatal hydronephrosis is hydronephrosis that occurs in newborns. Hydronephrosis is a condition in which specific parts of the kidney(s) become stretched, swollen, and widened with urine (pee). The kidneys are two organs located on each side of the spine, behind the stomach. The kidneys filter (remove) wastes from the blood. Neonatal hydronephrosis is also known as congenital hydronephrosis.
Please see our extensive entry on hydronephrosis for information on this condition. The entry describes many issues about neonatal hydronephrosis. Neonatal hydronephrosis comes from the Latin word "neos" meaning "new," the word "natus" meaning "born," the Greek word "hydor" meaning "water," the Greek word "nephros" meaning "kidney," and the Greek word "osis" meaning "condition." Put the words together and you get "new born water kidney condition."
