Nosomania refers to an abnormal belief that one is suffering from a special disease. This belief does not have any basis in fact. Nosomania comes from the Greek word "nosos" meaning "disease," and the Greek word "mania" meaning "insanity." Put the two words together and you get "disease insanity."
