Pachygnathous means characterized by a thick or large jaw. Pachygnathous comes from the Greek word "pachys" meaning "thick," the Greek word "gnathos" meaning "jaw," and the Greek word "osus" meaning "characterized by." Put the words together and you have "characterized by (a) thick jaw."
