q.o.d.
A medical abbreviation that refers to taking medication every other day. Q.o.d stands for the Latin phrase "quaque altera die," meaning "every other day." Technically, the abbreviation should really be q.a.d., but sometimes weird things happen with medical abbreviations. Q.o.d. is also written as qod, Q.O.D., and QOD.
