Saluretic
A descriptive term for something that improves the kidney's ability to release salt as waste into the urine. The kidneys are two organs located on each side of the spine, behind the stomach. The kidneys filter (remove) wastes from the blood. Saluretic comes from the Latin word "sal" meaning "salt," the Greek word "ouresis" meaning "urination," and the Greek word "ikos" meaning "pertaining to." Put the words together and you have "pertaining to salt urination."
