Secretogogue
Something that promotes secretion. Secretion is the process by which the body forms and gives off chemical substances that are needed for metabolism. Metabolism is a chemical process in the body by which food is broken down and changed to energy. Secretogogue is also spelled secretagogue. Secretogogue comes from the Latin word "secerno" meaning "to separate" and the Greek word "agogos" meaning "drawing forth." Put the words together and you have "separate drawing forth".
