Validity
A measure of how valid something is. Valid means effective. In medicine, validity is often used to describe how well a test or procedure measures what it is supposed to measure. For example, a ruler and a tape measure both have strong validity (effectiveness) in measuring the length of something. To validate is to make something valid. Validity comes from the Latin word "valeo" meaning "to be strong."
