Xeno-
2. Different, other, or other than usual. This form of xeno- is sometimes written as heter- or hetero-. Xeno- is sometimes written as xen-. Xeno- comes from the Greek word "xenos" meaning "stranger, foreign, guest, or host."
1. Strange, or pertaining to foreign material or a parasite. A parasite is any organism that lives in or on another living being, gains an advantage by doing so, but causes disadvantage to the being it is living on. As an example of a word using xeno, xenophobia is an anxiety disorder characterized by an abnormal, irrational, and intense fear of strangers, (especially foreigners, which are people from another country), or anything that is strange or foreign.
