Zone
A segment that has specific boundaries and characteristics. It is a region or area that is distinct from other regions and areas. A zone is any belt-like structure or structure that encircles something. A zone can be inside of something (such as inside the body) or outside of something. Thus, some zones are structures inside the body that encircle something. A zone can cross from side to side or can extend lengthwise. Zone is also known as zona. The word "zone" is Greek for belt.
